New York, New York — As reported earlier this week, a man in Brooklyn was arrested and charged with felony theft after he allegedly stole a food-service bag of frozen food from a McDonald’s in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
Police say the suspect entered the restaurant with a food bag, which he took off a conveyor belt and carried to the food-delivery stand, where he put the food into a freezer.
The suspect was later arrested and released without charges.
San Francisco, California — A man in San Francisco has been arrested for allegedly stealing a bag of fresh produce from a local Whole Foods Market.
According to police, the man was in a parking lot in San Bruno when a store employee noticed a bag he was holding and alerted a supervisor, who alerted the police.
The employee also saw the suspect steal an entire bag of produce and immediately called police.
Authorities say the man has been charged with two counts of stealing and one count of possessing stolen property.
Portland, Oregon — The Oregonian reported that a Portland woman was arrested in Portland, Ore., after a woman noticed her car was parked in a grocery store parking lot, and the woman allegedly walked into the store to pick up a bag.
The woman allegedly pulled the bag out of the parking lot and began to put it in her car, which prompted the store manager to report her to the police, who were able to track her down to a nearby restaurant.
Toronto, Ontario — A woman has been suspended for allegedly breaking into a Walmart store in Toronto.
Police said the woman was found sitting on the floor, apparently unconscious, inside a store with a shopping bag, with the bag inside the store’s refrigerated space.
She was taken to hospital for treatment.
New Orleans, Louisiana — The Associated Press reported that the New Orleans Police Department said a woman was shot and killed outside a convenience store in New Orleans on Monday night.
The Associated New Orleans news agency said that the victim was a 25-year-old woman who was shot in the abdomen.
Houston, Texas — Police in Houston, Tex., said Monday that a man who allegedly shot a woman in the back outside of a grocery shop in the Houston suburb of Pearland on Monday was being treated for his injuries.
Police spokeswoman Cpl.
Julie D. Adams said that a police officer responded to the Walmart in the 1500 block of West Main Street at about 11 p.m. local time after receiving a call about a shooting.
The victim, a 29-year old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Adams did not know how many shots were fired.
Los Angeles, California, and San Francisco — According to local news site the Daily News, the city of Los Angeles is investigating a report of a shooting at a convenience outlet in downtown Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office confirmed to the newspaper that the incident occurred at the corner of San Pedro Street and Westwood Boulevard, and that the suspect was arrested for attempted murder.
